The students really seemed to like this book; even those who were initially reluctant readers got into it after a chapter or two. It was also nice that the text was relatively short. Most students also turned in fantastic propaganda speeches and performed extremely well on the final in-class essay. Unfortunately, most students did not deliver their speeches very well at all and several students complained that there was not enough discussion time given in class. If I were to revise this unit plan, I would likely stress and practice speech delivery as well as nix a few formal activities in favor of a few unstructured discussions.
